Forging Partnerships across Industries Key to Advancing Net-Zero Goals

Accelerating climate action entails partnerships, said Google Vice-President for Government Affairs and Public Policy for Asia–Pacific Michaela Browning at the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) fourth Southeast Asia Development Symposium (SEADS).

"We believe that our impact is far greater when we work together and in fact that's very necessary and this is
why we collaborate with thousands of partners across multiple industries, from governments to companies, and to non-profits," she said, noting how the tech giant has adopted sustainability in its operations as part of its net-zero commitments.

She also talked about how its philanthropic arm, Google.org, has supported nonprofits in addressing sustainability challenges across the Asia and the Pacific.

Browning announced that 13 nonprofits would receive grants from a seed fund launched at last year's SEADS.

With the theme, "Imagining a Net-Zero ASEAN," SEADS 2023 explored measures governments, communities, and the private sector could take to progress toward carbon neutrality.
