Southeast Asia needs to decarbonize and pursue lower-carbon pathways to maintain robust sustainable economic growth, said experts at the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) fourth Southeast Asia Development Symposium (SEADS) held on 30 March.

Representatives from governments, businesses, and the development sector called for accelerated climate action to ensure Southeast Asia’s carbon neutrality by 2050 as they shared solutions that can meaningfully address the climate crisis.

SEADS 2023: "Imagining a Net-Zero ASEAN" was held at the Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia and simultaneously broadcast live.

It drew more than 3,000 participants, both virtual and in-person. The symposium was an official side-event of the ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting.
