Experts Talk Solutions: Ming Tan

Podcast host Sothea Ros speaks to Ming Tan, founding executive director of the Tech for Good Institute, on ensuring micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises are part of the fight against climate change.

Southeast Asia is home to 71 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), making it imperative to include these businesses in the fight against climate change and in advancing inclusive development, said Ming Tan, founding executive director of the Tech for Good Institute.

Southeast Asia is among the most climate-vulnerable regions so it must be prepared to cope with the impact of climate change, she said. At the same time, with its fast-growing population, the region needs to advance an inclusive development agenda. "That takes energy. So that balancing act is really quite challenging," she said in this episode of the Experts Talk Solutions. "The only way we can have that development agenda is to include the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises."
