Southeast Asia's recovery is underway, but the resurgence of the more contagious Delta COVID-19 variant has slowed the region’s growth momentum, according to a report from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) released yesterday.

GDP growth for Southeast Asian economies is now forecast at 3.1% for 2021, down from the 4.4% projected in the Asian Development Outlook 2021 published in April. For 2022, Southeast Asia will grow at 5%, which is a notch lower than the 5.1% projected in April.
