While COVID-19 has exacted an enormous human and economic toll, the rollout of vaccines is showing encouraging signs the pandemic can finally be contained. Nevertheless, countries still face medium-term uncertainty, and require wide-ranging measures to foster a recovery that is inclusive and sustainable.
