The digital economy and sustainable economic development intersect as increasing integration of digital technologies in various aspects of the economy opens opportunities. Addressing the key issues in these areas requires collaboration among policymakers, businesses, and academia to navigate the complex and evolving landscape of the digital era while ensuring long-term economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Co-organized with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), this symposium will bring together policymakers, academia, organizations, businesses, and promising startups to discuss inclusive digital transformation in advancing sustainable development in the region. This discussion area is in line with the three strategic economic thrust under Indonesia's ASEAN Chairmanship 2023: rebuilding regional growth, connectivity, and new competitiveness; accelerating inclusive digital economy transformation and participation; and promoting sustainable economic growth for a resilient future.

The symposium will also launch the Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Centre. Based in Jakarta, the center will serve as both a virtual and physical platform, bringing together all relevant parties committed to the transition to a digitally driven sustainable economic growth within the ASEAN and East Asia regions.
