The forum examines how countries are translating transport priorities into projects, policies, and investment programs that improve connectivity, safety, and system performance.

The Asia and the Pacific Transport Forum 2026 will bring together ministers, senior government officials, transport practitioners, development partners, and industry experts to examine practical pathways for delivering effective transport systems across the region. Convened biennially since 2008, the forum serves as ADB’s flagship platform for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, and capacity development in the transport sector.

With the theme “From Priorities to Actions,” the 2026 forum will take place at a pivotal moment as developing member countries begin implementing the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035). Drawing on ADB’s operational experience across the region, the forum will highlight how finance, knowledge, and partnerships can support country-led transport priorities and strengthen implementation and delivery. Discussions will focus on how policy direction, financing approaches, technologies, and institutional capacity can be aligned to support implementable transport projects and sustained results.

The event will feature high-level plenary discussions, parallel technical sessions, capacity-building training sessions, and solution-focused showcases that highlight practical approaches to transport planning, investment, and delivery. Participants will explore how countries are translating national priorities into strategies and investment pipelines, share lessons from real-world project implementation, and examine financing mechanisms—including private sector participation and public–private partnerships—that support delivery at scale.

Sessions will also highlight results-based and program-based approaches that complement project investments and strengthen institutional systems for long-term reform. Through dialogue, case studies, and knowledge sharing, the forum will showcase ADB’s transport initiatives, tools, and partnerships that support evidence-based decision-making and country-led implementation. By bringing together policymakers and practitioners, the forum aims to strengthen collaboration, accelerate delivery, and help countries move from strategic priorities to tangible transport outcomes across Asia and the Pacific.

Participation in the forum is free. However, those interested in joining as on-site participants are expected to cover all travel-related costs and arrangements, including return airfare, hotel accommodation, daily subsistence, ground transport, visa fees, and other expenses.
