As the Asia and the Pacific region takes center stage in the global energy transition, platforms that foster collaboration and knowledge exchange are more essential than ever. For the past 2 decades, the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF), organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has served as a flagship event for advancing clean energy solutions and promoting sustainable growth across the region.
This year, ACEF celebrates its 20th edition, to be held on 2–6 June 2025 at the ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, under the theme “Empowering the Future: Clean Energy Innovations, Regional Cooperation and Integration, and Financing Solutions.” Co-organized with the Korea Energy Agency (KEA), ACEF 2025 comes at a critical juncture when accelerated clean energy adoption is crucial to meet the demands of rapid urbanization, industrialization, and economic growth in the region.
The Asia-Pacific’s diverse energy landscape—with abundant resources in solar, wind, hydropower, and geothermal—has made significant progress in clean energy adoption. However, the region continues to face challenges such as ensuring universal access to reliable and affordable energy, strengthening the competitiveness of renewable technologies, and mobilizing sufficient investment to expand clean energy infrastructure. Addressing these challenges will require robust regional cooperation, structural reforms, and innovative financing mechanisms to support long-term sustainability.
ACEF 2025 will convene a broad range of stakeholders, including clean energy practitioners from government agencies, the private sector, academia, financial institutions, and non-governmental organizations. The forum will provide a platform to showcase real-world solutions, share successful practices, and foster partnerships that drive technological innovation, strengthen infrastructure, and mobilize capital for clean energy initiatives.
