This brief prescribes a green recovery path for Southeast Asia in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While several countries in Southeast Asia have implemented some policies to support a green recovery, more needs to be done, as the countries try to bolster recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The brief says a green recovery is critical to mitigate and adapt to the impact of climate change, create jobs, increase competitiveness, and meet the Sustainable Development Goals. It identifies five priority areas for countries to focus on: agriculture, energy, urban development and transport, a circular economy, and oceans.
