This report provides insights on the structural and gender-specific barriers faced by micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Cambodia and highlights potential solutions.
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Cambodia face two transformative megatrends: digital transformation and climate change. Following global trends, more MSMEs in Cambodia have adopted digital technologies and environmentally friendly practices.
To effectively support digital and green transformations among MSMEs in Cambodia, it is crucial to understand what hinders the adoption of digital technologies and green practices.
Using both quantitative and qualitative data, this research identified the main barriers MSMEs faced in digital and green adoption. Drawing on extensive data and stakeholder insights, it reveals how unequal access to knowledge, finance, and networks can hold back enterprises owned by women.
The report sets out targeted policy recommendations for inclusive economic development where women entrepreneurs are empowered to lead in the digital and green economy.
