This webinar will examine how to implement, scale, and sustain effective motorcycle safety interventions across Asia and the Pacific.

Proven ways to protect motorcycle riders already exist in the Asia and the Pacific. What does it take to move them beyond individual projects and cities to region-wide impact?

The discussion will explore how motorcycle safety knowledge can be translated into practice at scale, examining the enabling conditions that allow good practice to be replicated and embedded across contexts.

With motorcycles a dominant mode of everyday travel across much of Southeast Asia, the session is directly relevant to governments and practitioners in the subregion seeking to extend successful interventions from individual sites to national programs. Participants will gain insights into what helps motorcycle safety measures take hold and endure.

The session is part of Vision Zero on Two Wheels: Data-Driven Solutions and Policies for PTWs (powered two-wheelers), a four-part webinar series organized by the Asia–Pacific Road Safety Observatory, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the World Resources Institute Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. The webinar series examines the data, policies, and interventions needed to protect powered two-wheeler users across Asia and the Pacific. The webinar series is supported by the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific, financed by the Government of Japan through ADB.
