This session will explore how ports can move beyond compliance toward integrated and data-driven environmental management.
Dry bulk cargo ports are essential to global supply chains, but their operations can generate significant environmental pressures, from dust emissions and contaminated runoff to greenhouse gas emissions, affecting surrounding communities and ecosystems. In Southeast Asia, these challenges are intensified by the proximity of ports to densely populated and environmentally sensitive areas, rapid trade growth, and increasing climate variability.
This session will explore how ports can move beyond compliance toward integrated and data-driven environmental management. It will highlight practical approaches to managing dust, runoff, and emissions, while examining how environmental performance is increasingly linked to operational resilience, competitiveness, and access to finance.
This webinar is the sixth in the Green Ports Webinar Series, organized by the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (ACGF) and hosted by the Southeast Asia Development Solutions platform and Development Asia of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
ACGF, an ASEAN Infrastructure Fund initiative, supports governments in Southeast Asia to prepare and finance infrastructure projects that advance environmental sustainability and strengthen climate resilience. ACGF is owned by ASEAN governments and ADB.
