Cities for All: An Introduction to Inclusive Cities
This free online course from ADB introduces key concepts, examines inclusion issues, and provides a toolkit to make cities more inclusive.
People are at the heart of smart, livable cities. However, many cities are not properly planned and built to serve their diverse populations, with women and girls, people with disabilities, older persons, and children left vulnerable and marginalized.
This free online course from the ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF) introduces key concepts, examines inclusion issues, and provides a toolkit to make cities more inclusive.
The course is designed for city government personnel, city planners, policymakers, and members of civil society organizations in Asia and the Pacific. The course is also relevant for urban services and development professionals, researchers and students, and others who are interested in improving and mainstreaming gender equality and social inclusion in urban projects and integrating smart inclusive approaches toward people-centered urban development.
The course can be taken at any time. It has three modules, each of which takes an hour to complete. Participants can receive a certificate upon completion.
AASCTF is funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, managed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and implemented by global consulting firm Ramboll.
The course is hosted on ADB's online learning platform, eLearn. New users can create an account by clicking on the external users button on the registration page.
