Spawned by advancements in technologies in the last 2 decades, a plethora of information and content has led to the public sector struggling to make sense of all the information and knowledge needed for policy making.
In this panel discussion, "Knowledge Management and Innovation in Action: Transforming Policy Making for a Sustainable Southeast Asia," at the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) third Southeast Asia Development Symposium (SEADS), experts shared experiences on how knowledge management and futures thinking can be employed to plan better for development.
The panelists agreed that knowledge management brings efficiency gains as it enables the seamless flow of information to decision makers at the right time and in the right format.
They also agreed that Southeast Asian countries need to have a timely access to relevant and quality knowledge and the ability to manage emerging issues to ensure that policies are responsive to both current and future challenges.
The session was organized by ADB.
