This publication looks at barriers faced by many women and girls living with disabilities in Asia and the Pacific.

Persons with disabilities and their families are at risk of experiencing higher levels of poverty and unemployment and lower levels of education and poorer health. This risk is elevated for women and girls with disabilities who experience gender inequality, sexism, and stereotyping alongside ableism, disability exclusion, and expectations to conform to specific social and ethnic cultural norms.

This publication looks at barriers faced by many women and girls living with disabilities in Asia and the Pacific. It provides guidance on inclusive approaches to project and program design, implementation, monitoring, and review.
