Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for 97% of all businesses in Southeast Asia and employ 67% of the working population. Given their scope and impact not just on the national economy but also the economies of the cities where they are based, SMEs clearly play a key role in building urban resilience.

This webinar explored the transformative roles of SMEs and the need for closer collaboration between public sectors, especially local governments, and SMEs. It featured diverse case studies and compelling discussions about strengthening both business and urban resilience.

The webinar was organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Resilient Cities Network (R-Cities), and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).

The session also marked the launch of R-Cities' publication, A Point of View: Small and Medium Enterprises for Urban Resilience
