This LEAP webinar examined Southeast Asia's growth path in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is the growth path of Southeast Asian economies in the wake of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic?
Badri N. Gopalakrishnan, senior researcher at the School of Environmental and Forestry Sciences, University of Washington–Seattle and cofounder and partner at Infinite Sum Modelling LLC, discussed an ongoing study on the economic recovery for Southeast Asia from 2021 to 2025. The study updates an assessment of the impact of the pandemic on the economic growth path of countries, taking into account governments' short- and medium-term policy responses.
Alfredo Perdiguero, director, Regional Cooperation and Operations Coordination Division, Southeast Asia Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB), moderated.
The webinar is part of the Learnings for Economics and Policy Analysis (LEAP) Series organized by the ADB's Southeast Asia Department. LEAP features online presentations to strengthen the economic and policy analysis skills of the department's staff in preparing research and project documents. LEAP aims to encourage participants to discuss the latest developments in the region and share country experiences and perspectives.
