The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), in collaboration with the Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS), will hold a webinar that will examine the role of the private sector in implementing the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022 and how the law can reduce marine pollution. The law mandates big companies to adopt and implement policies to dispose of plastic packaging waste.

The forum will allow various stakeholders in the Philippines to note progress in reducing marine pollution and will discuss ways private companies have been contributing to reduce plastic waste and marine plastic debris. It will also be a venue for private companies to showcase initiatives that contribute to the reduction of marine plastic waste. The webinar will also look at lessons from the region and across the globe.
