The forum will examine solutions, technologies, and financing mechanisms that can help cities be more green and sustainable.

Southeast Asia is rapidly urbanizing, with 51.1% of its population already living in cities.

Rapid urbanization does not only lead to rising inequality and crimes, it also adds tremendous pressure on the local and global environment. These challenges make it imperative to design and build cities that are smart, green, and livable.

The Green Cities Investment Forum 2024 will examine solutions, technologies, and financing mechanisms that help cities be more green and sustainable. It will showcase quality infrastructure from a growing network of cities which have developed Green City Action Plans (GCAP) that detail specific and localized plans for green development and investment. In particular, the forum will feature investable infrastructure projects designed to address climate challenges.

The forum seeks to:

  • Showcase successful implementation and best practices of GCAPs, emphasizing the economic benefits and operational efficiencies achieved through sustainable initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration among city stakeholders, government policymakers, educational institutions, private organizations, and financial institutions to explore investment opportunities and innovative financing models for GCAP projects.
  • Share experiences on green and smart cities initiatives.
