In addition to adverse impacts to human lives and health outcomes, COVID-19 had unprecedented impacts across economies, resulting in major job and income losses.

In this webinar organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Sameer Khatiwada, ADB social sector specialist, will present preliminary findings on the labor and socio-economic effects of the pandemic on selected Southeast Asian countries, emphasizing differential impacts across and within countries, and identifying particularly vulnerable groups.

The presentation will cover response measures implemented by governments and discuss country-specific challenges and strategies to skills development and social protection systems.
