Unpacking the RCEP Agreement: Investment

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) marks the establishment of a free trade agreement among 15 countries, which include the member states of ASEAN.

RCEP's investment provisions aim to foster the investment ecosystem across ASEAN and relevant RCEP participating countries.

Investment has become a significant driver of economic growth over the years, especially when most RCEP countries face economic fallout due to COVID-19. Thus, facilitating a conducive investment ecosystem for all stakeholders is crucial to fostering a more attractive and viable market.

This dialogue will discuss RCEP's investment provisions and assess participating countries' level of preparedness and understanding of how the RCEP chapter on investment could be a game-changer for the services industry.

The webinar is organized by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the Secretary-General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, under ERIA's Public–Private Dialogue webinar series.
