Analyzing Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Financing Options for SMEs
Organizers: SWITCH-Asia
Date and time
In Asia, mobilizing sustainable consumption and production (SCP) finance is key to a transformative economic and societal shift. However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those deploying novel technologies and business models for SCP, face difficulty in accessing finance.
This workshop is part of a recently concluded technical assistance project funded by the European Union that analyzed SCP financing options for SMEs across Asia. The scoping study covered national legislation, government programs, international financing initiatives, and contributions from banks, fintech companies, incubators, and other relevant networks. The study assessed trends and emerging initiatives related to climate, circularity, and sustainability in key countries.
This workshop will examine SCP financing options for SMEs in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Pakistan. The webinar will provide an overview of financial institutions and programs that support circular economy initiatives in various countries. It will also highlight the intersection between SCP and climate finance, as well as noteworthy legislative initiatives. The event is open to all SWITCH-Asia stakeholders, particularly grant organizations, national focal points, and interested organizations and individuals.
