ADB Study on Industry 4.0 in Southeast Asia

Date and time
21 May 2021
01:30 pm - 03:00 pm Manila Time

Preparing workers for the future of jobs is central to the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) thrust in Asia and the Pacific. Can developing countries transition effectively to Industry 4.0, or the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)?

The webinar will present and discuss insights from ADB’s study, Reaping the Benefits of Industry 4.0 Through Skills Development in High-Growth Industries in Southeast Asia, which is based on surveys of employers and training institutions in four countries—Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. The study recommends renewal of skills development strategies with a life-cycle approach to skills development.

Leading experts will share insights and views on practical actions that ADB’s developing member countries can take to reap the benefits of 4IR for their industries and to improve job prospects.
