With the theme “Rebuild Tourism, Rebound with Resilience,” the Mekong Tourism Forum in Quang Nam will be the first interactive event convening public- and private-sector tourism leaders and experts in the Mekong region since COVID-19 disrupted the travel industry.

There will be keynotes on rethinking the future of tourism. Topics will include evolving megatrends that affect tourism recovery, as well as concerted policies, regulations, and investments needed to strengthen tourism resilience and sustainability with a focus on nature-based solutions and technology adoption.

Three interactive expert-led panel discussions will center on: i) new strategies to connect sustainable tourism suppliers and buyers with markets, financing, and nature; ii) social enterprises as a powerful tool for inclusive and sustainable tourism recovery, development, and promotion; and iii) technology to unlock green tourism opportunities.

There will also be opportunities to reflect on lessons learned from the ongoing regional tourism recovery while rethinking long-term post-crisis tourism planning and development following resilience-based approaches to strengthen regional tourism supply chains and foster cross-sectoral collaboration.

A sustainable tourism exhibition from Viet Nam and other Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries will showcase and promote responsible tourism products and services with a positive environmental and community impact. The exhibition will also include experiential hands-on workshops to foster better understanding of local cultures.

Speakers will include leaders from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, representatives from other GMS national tourism organizations, the Asian Development Bank, Destination Mekong, Agoda, the Pacific Asia Travel Association, OAG, YAANA Ventures, EXO Travel, Travelife and the ASEAN Tourism Association, among others.

The Mekong Tourism Forum is free to attend for genuine Greater Mekong Subregion travel and tourism stakeholders.
